We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our Website unless otherwise stated. We will notify you of material changes through:

•       Prominent notice on our Website

Your continued use of our Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you must cease using our Services.

4. Eligibility and User Accounts

4.1 Age Requirements

You must be at least 18 years of age to use our Services independently. Users under 18 may only access our Services with parental or guardian consent and supervision.

4.2 Account Registration

5.1 Permitted Use

You may use our Services for lawful purposes only, in accordance with these Terms. Our Services are intended to support democratic renewal, contemplative leadership development, and related educational purposes.

5.2 Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

•       Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights

•       Use the Services for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent

•       Reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our Content without authorisation

•       Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, networks, or user accounts

•       Transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code

•       Engage in data scraping, harvesting, or automated data collection without permission

•       Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation

•       Harass, threaten, defame, or abuse other users or GCRD staff

•       Post or transmit content that is unlawful, offensive, discriminatory, or harmful

•       Interfere with or disrupt the Services or servers/networks connected to the Services

6. Intellectual Property Rights

6.1 GCRD's Intellectual Property

All Content and materials available through our Services, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, course materials, videos, software, and design elements, are the property of GCRD or its licensors and are protected by UK and international intellectual property laws.

GCRD's name, logo, and trademarks are the exclusive property of GCRD. You may not use these without our prior written permission.

6.2 Limited Licence

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, GCRD grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes. This licence does not include:

•       Any resale or commercial use of the Services or Content

•       Collection and use of product listings, descriptions, or prices

•       Any derivative use of the Services or Content

•       Any downloading or copying of account information for the benefit of another entity

6.3 User-Generated Content

If you submit, post, or transmit any content to our Services (including feedback, questions, comments, or suggestions), you grant GCRD a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display such content for any purpose related to GCRD's mission and operations.

You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to any content you submit and that such content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.

7. Program Enrollment and Participation

7.1 Application and Acceptance

Enrollment in GCRD programs may require completion of an application process. Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance. GCRD reserves the right to accept or reject any application at its sole discretion.

7.2 Program Requirements

Participants are expected to:

•       Attend scheduled sessions and complete required coursework

•       Engage respectfully with fellow participants, faculty, and staff

•       Maintain confidentiality regarding other participants' personal information and contributions

•       Comply with any additional program-specific guidelines or codes of conduct

7.3 Program Modifications

GCRD reserves the right to modify program schedules, content, faculty, or format as necessary. We will make reasonable efforts to notify participants of significant changes in advance.

8. Fees and Payment

8.1 Program Fees

Fees for programs, courses, and services are specified at the time of enrollment or purchase. All fees are in GBP (£) unless otherwise stated. Fees are subject to change, but changes will not affect enrollments already confirmed at the time of the change.

8.2 Payment Terms

Payment is due at the time specified in your enrollment confirmation. Accepted payment methods include credit/debit cards and bank transfers. You authorise GCRD to charge your selected payment method for all applicable fees.

Failure to make timely payment may result in suspension or termination of access to Services.

8.3 Refund and Cancellation Policy

Cancellations by Participants:

•       More than 30 days before program start: Full refund minus 10% administrative fee

•       15-30 days before program start: 50% refund

•       Less than 15 days before program start: No refund

Cancellations by GCRD:

If GCRD cancels a program, participants will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to another program. GCRD is not liable for any additional costs incurred (travel, accommodation, etc.).

Exceptional Circumstances:

Refund requests due to medical emergencies or other exceptional circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Supporting documentation may be required.

9. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information are governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using our Services, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

10.1 Service Availability

10.2 Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GCRD disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:

•       Warranties that the Services will meet your requirements or expectations

10.3 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GCRD, its directors, employees, partners, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

•       Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities

•       Personal injury or property damage

•       Any damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Services

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid to GCRD for the Services in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10.4 Exceptions

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless GCRD, its directors, officers, employees, agents, and partners from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Services, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your violation of any third-party rights, or (d) any content you submit or transmit through the Services.

12. Termination

12.1 Termination by You

You may terminate your account or cease using the Services at any time by contacting us at info@gcrd.org.uk. Termination does not relieve you of any obligations to pay outstanding fees.

12.2 Termination by GCRD

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to:

•       Violation of these Terms

•       Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity

•       Non-payment of fees

•       Extended periods of inactivity

12.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Services will immediately cease. All provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to intellectual property rights, disclaimer of warranties, indemnification, and limitations of liability.

14.3 Informal Resolution

15. Force Majeure

GCRD shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms if such failure or delay is due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, labour disputes, government actions, epidemics, pandemics, or failures in telecommunications or internet services.

16. General Provisions

16.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any program-specific terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and GCRD regarding your use of the Services and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.

16.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

16.3 Waiver

No waiver of any term or condition of these Terms shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or any other term. GCRD's failure to enforce any right or provision shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

16.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights hereunder without our prior written consent. GCRD may assign these Terms at any time without notice to you.

The section headings in these Terms are for convenience only and have no legal or contractual effect.
