Dr Oksana Chernysh

Dr Oksana Chernysh is Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Human Capital Development and Social Leadership at Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University, Ukraine. Holding a PhD in Linguistics and an MSc in Clinical Psychology, she is a multidisciplinary professional whose work integrates clinical psychology, intercultural communication and higher education. She has dedicated her career to advancing mental health, trauma-informed care and psychosocial resilience, including the development of adaptive psychological support models for war-affected populations in Ukraine: veterans, women and children.

Her research interests encompass emotional regulation, post-traumatic growth and the narrative processing of trauma. She has collaborated on training programmes and psychological toolkits designed for individuals and communities affected by prolonged crisis, displacement and armed conflict, and contributes to bilingual initiatives that integrate Western psychological frameworks with Ukraine's specific cultural contexts.

Through her work at Zhytomyr Polytechnic she has helped establish international partnerships focused on human-centred recovery, veteran reintegration and trauma-informed education. She remains a committed advocate for mental health as a fundamental component of social reconstruction and sustainable peace.
